See How This Former Actress Saves 4 People’s Lives Every Month!

At age 9 Somy Ali moved to South Florida, USA from Pakistan. Her various careers included in the early 1990’s being an actress in Pakistani Bollywood, real estate, and her own clothing line. She did not know she was being called to something greater until one day 2006 when a woman from Bangladesh came knocking on her door. She was bleeding from a head injury, and had been beaten, and raped. That woman was what prompted Somy to start her not-for-profit organization called, ”No More Tears.”

The organization assists immigrant women and children, who have been victims of violence and human trafficking. These people are especially trapped and vulnerable, because they do not know the language, their rights, laws, customs, or where to get help.  Somy and her organization have assisted people with getting everything from their basic needs of food and shelter, to medical attention, legal assistance, helping them learn their rights, options, and more.

Mathew 25:40 (NIV)  “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Somy and her organization have until recently helped rescue 374 adults, and 757 children from physical, sexual, and verbally abusive situations. On average they save 4 lives every month. Having been born in Pakistan and having experienced domestic violence, Somy feels she knows first hand how to connect, and be able to help these people in a way only those who have experienced it can. She states, “I think it’s necessary for someone who has a platform to raise a voice for the voiceless.”

An unfortunate fact is that during the holiday season incidences of domestic violence go up, so if you, or someone you know is in need of help from the organization, No More Tears the crisis hotline phone number is 954-324-7669,  and click here for their website.
